KATIE BROWN (she/her) is a director, producer, and theatermaker based in New York City.

She is a recent Pace University graduate with a BA in directing in the International Performance Ensemble program. Her passions include directing, producing, devising, and theater education. She is dedicated to stories that engage empathy, hope, and the goal to connect.

She is dedicated to building and cultivating communities through the performing arts. Katie strives for theater that creates space for everyone, particularly for people of color and communities who have historically been pushed to the margins. She is invigorated by this generation of artists and the power we have to make change in the artistic setting and beyond.

She strives to create space for connection, conversation, and transformation in her directing practices. Katie seeks out stories that anyone can relate to, no matter their background. Theater is a form of communication that brings us together. She wanst audiences to walk away from her work, having resonated with something familiar to them and something new.

Katie loves devising work and collaborating with others to tell a story. She enjoys work that can flip the script and alter the "traditional" theatrical experience. Music has always been a big part of her life from listening to the Talking Heads in the back of her mom’s Volvo at the age of four to singing in the high school choir, so she enjoys incorporating musicality and rhythm into her work.
